We know the impact our sport has on the environment and we are dedicated to reducing the impact of our products as much as possible in order to protect our playing field. These pants have been developed with the following features:

What we’re not doing so well when it comes to our environmental impact

Despite our efforts, it’s not always easy to reduce our impact as much as we would like. For this product, we are striving to:

– Changing the main material to a recyclable material
– Using dope dyeing for all of the materials
– Finding out how to waterproof a product using a recycled membrane
– Making the membrane separable (or the same chemical composition) to facilitate recycling of the product

What is Dope Dyeing?

Dyeing textiles uses lots of water, chemical products and energy. However, we enjoy wearing colour. To reduce this impact, we use the “Dope Dyed” technique where powder colour pigments are added when the yarn is produced (and not by soaking it in dye baths as is usually the case). This reduces consumption and the discharge of waste water from colouring our fabrics.

Can I compare the environmental impact of my snowboarding outfit?

The environmental impact of the men’s ski or snowboard trousers is calculated over its entire life cycle and using various indicators. Versatile and clever product.

These salopettes were designed and co-created by and for snowboard enthusiasts. The stomach pocket allows you to carry all your things, even when you ride without a jacket in spring or summer. The product also adapts to your leg length thanks to an elastic system hidden in the pockets. If your boots have a thumbwheel tightening system (BOA or other brand), our design allows you to easily access the tighten mechanism without having to remove your gaiter.

Can I be sure my men’s snowboarding salopettes will protect me well in bad weather?

For braving bad weather (rain, snow, wind etc.), these men’s snowboarding salopettes have been developed with a waterproof material and a design that stops water getting through and reduces the effects of the wind. We have spent a few days snowboarding and carried out tests over long periods, in all conditions, to validate the waterproofing of the product.

Why is water-repellency needed for my salopettes?

The water-repellent feature makes water run off the fabric without seeping in thanks to a treatment applied to its outer surface. The fabric does not soak up water and stays light and warm. This treatment must be renewed during the life of the product, after 2 to 3 washes on average, using the products available in our stores. All the waterproof trousers that we design for snowboarders are water-repellent.

Water often gets in through the seams. Do my salopettes have waterproof seams?

As well as the waterproof fabric, we enhance the waterproofing of the salopettes with taped seams. These are heat-bonded waterproof strips placed on the seams inside the clothing to make it perfectly watertight. All seams are taped on the entire skiing outfit?

What is a membrane and what’s it for?

A membrane is an extremely thin component (between 5 and 25 micrometres) applied to the internal surface of a textile substrate to give it excellent waterproof and breathable capabilities. Our membrane components stop water getting inside while allowing the water vapour generated by your body to pass through, when snowboarding.

How will my salopettes keep me warm?

To keep you warm, we use faux-down wadding insulation. Wadding is a synthetic component made from polyester which stores more or less air, depending on the length of the fibres. Wadding can be standard, hi-tech or silicone-coated, each with different properties (warmth, light weight, elasticity, etc.). The salopettes BIB 900 are also equipped with WARMSEAT technology which improves insulation for the buttocks by 54% when sitting in the snow.

How should I dress to avoid getting cold in the mountains?

To keep your legs warm and dry, 2 layers of clothing are enough:
– 1 ski base layer to wick away perspiration.
– 1 ski trouser to protect against bad weather and provide warmth.

How can I stop snow from getting in my salopettes?

Our salopettes and trousers have elasticated gaiters which can be adjusted around the boots. If you fall or are in fresh snow, the seal keeps the snow out.

How do I wash my salopettes?

To optimise the performance and durability of your trousers, we recommend:
* Machine wash at 30°, synthetic programme.
* Turn the product inside out.
* Add a small amount of detergent. No softener.
* We recommend you wring it by hand.
* Dry on a hanger in a warm, well-ventilated place.
Do not dry clean. Do not place on a radiator.
You can restore the water resistance of the outer fabric using a fabric waterproofing spray. Read the care label.
